FAQ
GENERAL
Q: What is MySpace News?
MySpace
News aggregates news from around the web and provides MySpace users
with the ability to rate, discuss, and share what they think is most interesting.
Q: How do I find the news I'm looking for?
By
using our "Browse News by Category" navigation box, you can view news categories
by topic, alphabetical (A-Z) order, or search for your favorite subject.
Q: How does a publisher make it into MySpace News?
We're
looking for the best from a variety of categories. Some factors
include: Is this source topical? Do they publish regularly? Is there a
core audience? Do other news sources link to this site?

Q: When I go to an article, there's a MySpace News frame on the side of the page. What is it for? Can I make the frame go away?
The
frame is a way for you to be able to interact with an article while you're
reading it. It also lists linked headlines of other news articles. If
you want to make it go away, just click the permalink

on the lower-right corner of the frame.
Q: Is MySpace affiliated with the third-party websites to whom it links via the MySpace News service?
MySpace
News may contain links to third-party websites. Such links do not imply
approval, endorsement, affiliation or sponsorship as between MySpace
and such third-party website.
BLOGS & FEEDS
Q: Can I suggest a blog, feed or information source?
Q: I'm really into speed-knitting kittens. Can you create a news page for it?
We'd
like to have pages for nearly all topics. We can create a new topic
page if it's appropriate and if there is quality news available for it
online.

PUBLISHERS
Q: What do you do for publishers?
Our goal is to help the MySpace community find interesting, relevant,
high-quality content. In doing this, we hope to send a significant amount
of traffic to publishers' websites. We hope that MySpace users discover
these sites and become regular readers. All publishers get their ad impressions
for all pageviews coming from our users. Our system should not interfere
with the counting of impressions.
Q: Why are your links to articles appearing in search results?
We recently discovered that our links to publishers' articles were appearing on various search engines. Moreover, due to MySpace's placement on the search engines, our links were sometimes outranking the original articles.
Our goal is to get more traffic and exposure for publishers, not to compete with them for search rank. To make sure that search engines recognize this, we've added meta tags to our link pages to ensure that they are not indexed. We expect that search engines will soon discover these tags and that our link pages will stop appearing in search results.
Q: Can I submit my own blog or website?
Sure. Just go to
Suggest a Site/ Blog/ RSS Feed
to fill out our submission form. Our staff will review it for
appropriateness and quality. If it passes inspection, we'll try to
add it to relevant news topics.
Q: How do I have my site/blog removed from MySpace News?
Q: Do you have a MySpace News badge I can put on my site?
